Been to Thailand and Cambodia, this brings back good memories with awesome food!
Great food
A family owned restaurant with authentic laotian-thai food.I have come several times over the past few years and am never disapointed.my favorite dish is the green thai curry and my husband is obsessed with their nem kao.
I LOVE THIS PLACE WITH ALL MY ♥️. Kao Soi is my favourite Thai dish and most restaurants don’t have on their menu, and Thai Sep not only has it, they kill it ✨ (in the best way, obviously)!
Really good and authentic food. The service was super nice!
In love with their Thai milk tea and mango coconut dessert!
Good but not great
Some of the best Thai/Laotian food in Montreal! The kitchen is run by a Thai/Laotian mom and son who make authentic and delicious dishes. Make sure you ask for it spicy! It's also bring your own wine, but it is cash only.
Great ambiance and great food!
Best and most authentic Thai restaurant in Montreal!
I saw the good reviews and thought I might try it. Everything is true! Amazing dishes and great variety! Just have cash with you (they issue receipt).
Excellent Tom Yum. Great service.
Great home made thai. Real pad thai and coconut soup
Get them sausages. Get them.
Cash only!Thai and Lao food! It's my first contact with Lao food. I enjoyed it! The food was different from what I usually eat. Usually, when I go to a Thai restaurant, I'd order curry or pad thai etc. But here, they have some specialty that I've never seen in other restaurants! We took the sausages, chicken skewered, fried fish and the nem kao. The sausages and chicken skewered were ok. The fried wish and nem kao were good! The nem kao comes with lettuce, so you can make wraps! The food are more on the salty side, but it balances out when you eat it with their sticky rice, or wrap in lettuce!
Food is really good and not expensive. The menu should be more explicit as some plates name are in Thai only without description.
Ordered BBQ beef, it was mediocre - felt that the meat was not fully cooked. Note that this place only accepts cash. It can get crowded during Fridays and weekend evenings.
Just cash... Service very long
Authenticity and simple. BYOB. Highly recommended. Always ask for spicy.
Have been going here for years and will be going for many more!
Amazing taste, the dishes delay a little bit but it really Worth's it
Great Thai food! Super fresh!
wow. just wow.
We took the mango salad in appetizer, and shared a pad thaï & shrimp green curry. It was excellent, would recommend the same!
Lao style papaya salad exactly like in Laos. Legitimately spicy. The laap was amazing. And so was the pad thai.
had a horrific experience here, food made me sick and owners did not want to refund my meal!! avoid, much better thai places around and more affordable.
Great cozy place for local Thai. Reminds me alot of Thailand. Careful on the spicy level
It's been a long time since I had tasted such a good meal at the restaurant. The freshness, the taste and the mixture of flavors pleasantly satisfied me. Colorful place, welcoming, warm and exotic at the same time. A nice touch of originality to discover. Excellent curry and tasty mango salad.
Terribly bad food and service! Not highly recommended
It is a renewed experience of happiness and pleasures on the palate. All the meals I have tried in the past 5 years really pleased me. To enhance my meal, I order a red iced tea that is a little sweet but fits all meals.
Overall Over priced and Over rated. The portion sizes are very small for the price. the food was good but not so good that it can make you forget that it costs $12 for 3 small sausages...and if you want a fist sized "bowl" of sticky rice with that, it will cost you another $4. All together that's $16 for an appetizer portion sized portion of food! To put all of this into context 4 out of the 7 of the appetizers listed on the menu at Au pied de cochon are $16 or less!
Took out 3 different plates when we were in neighborhood and here's the breakdown :1) Pad Thai chicken and shrimp: too much noodles, very little to non-existent bean sprouts, dry/overcooked tofu, 3 very small shrimps, ok amount of chicken for the half half chicken shrimp mix, dry overall, missing shallots and a few other things. 2) Pad Thai shrimp: same as above without the chicken.3) Peanut chicken with fried spinach : ok quantity of chicken, peanut sauce too oily, and ok spinach.4) General tso: very sweet sauce, crispy chicken were very small pieces and covered with old batter?Won't bother going back with the many much better Thai places we have in the greater Montreal area. And it's cash only...
Pros:Delicious Laotian and Thai food - my favorites were the Nem Kao, the mango and papaya salads and the soup in my photos. The two desserts were yummy also. It's a bring your own wine. Very good and accommodating service. Very reasonable prices. Cons:Only accepts cash, no credit, no debit. The place is small so it's hard to do big groups. They don't take reservations. My friend recommended this place because she knew I liked Laotian and Thai food. The food was delicious and being a BYOB is always a plus. Unfortunately, they only take cash and there is no ATM in the restaurant, but I'll definitely come back again because the food was great.
Really authentic flavour and with many more options beyond the typical Western favourites (like pad thai.) If you want an honest well made and delicious Thai dish, come here.
Good food and nice service ! Small cozy place
Very good and authentic
This was the best foodI’ve ever had on thanksgiving, PERIOD!!!
Seating is very limited so wait time before you get a table can take up to 45 minutes. However, it's well worth the wait because the food there is bomb and it's the most authentic Thai restaurant in Montreal I've ever been to.
Good warm feeling as I ate....hubs and I missed thai food so we found this place and decided to give it a try. Ordered the tomyum soup (of course), green curry and beef rice. All was good and tasty though I wished the tomyum soup was spicier. It is too sweet tasting for an asian girl like me. But I reckon the asian food overseas in westernized areas are catered to the their taste. Thai milk tea was pretty good as well. Not too bad place in Montreal for good Thai food
Best Thai Lao place in Montréal. Period. The Nem Khao dish is To. Die. For! Papaya salad is awesome too!
Best Thaï I have had in montreal.
The food here is fresh tasting, fairly priced and unique. The service is also kind and attentive.Sim tam (spicy salad) , Namtok (grilled beef) and green curry were my favorite, it's really taste authentic, same as I ate in Thailand 2 years ago.see pictures below
Everything was delicious and fresh. Loved the green curry
Great foods
A good thai restaurant that serves some very authentic thai food. It's not too pricey compared to other places. very welcoming and friendly staffs. The pad Thai was really packed with flavor and i loved the fried tofu inside. the salmon was delicious with three red curry and coconut milk. the green curry soup with coconut milk was ok but I prefer red curry instead. I recommand to try the thai chai green tea! It is so refreshing and so good! after tasting their green tea drink I can say bye to Starbucks green tea frappuccino. The only downside is they only accept cash.
Best thai food in town, authentic taste. Tom yum is devine!
Beautiful local find.Walked in based on a Google recommendation, and I was not disappointed.Get there early, as this small place fills up fast. It's also a bring your own wine, so that's a huge plus
garbage overpriced food , rude owners, bad service
Food was good but not great, the pad thai was slightly dry and the dishes take slightly long to come out
